A new gender option: non-binary

"X" will soon be seen on driver's licenses and birth certificates in California.
In addition to male and female, non-binary will be recognized as a new gender option. The state law, S.B.179 was approved in October 2017 and will be effective starting in September 2019. Residents can start requesting legal gender change from September 2018.
